My ancestors (Bienemann or Bieneman) came from a town in Germany called Gieselbach, or Geiselbach. Does anyone know where this town is located (I've been told it was in Baden) and if it still exists. I may have the spelling incorrect. I've found neither of the above spellings on any maps of Germany. Please help!!

Geiselbach is just outside of Franfurt. I can not remember for sure but I believe it is to the south east. Look close because it is small.

Geiselbach is near Aschaffenburg east of Frankfurt,
Germany. Look for Hanau and enlarge your map a bit more
to show the smaller communities.

Try the above website. The town still exists, as my aunt has visited. One of my ancestors, Joseph Carl Weber, was married to a widow named Barbara Bienemann, who had 3 children by her first husband Peter. Joseph married Barbara in Geiselbach and immigrated to Iowa in 1880. One of Peter and Barbara's children, Amelia, died in Geiselbach and was buried with her father. The remaining 2 Bienemann children were raised as Weber in Iowa.
