Nelda: I believe you offered me some Barentine info several months ago that I could not connect with. I just met a cousin who has my Barentine line back to a Wilson McDaniel "Dock" Barentine 1839-1927 . His Grandfather was Silas Barentine. The cousin mentions Edgefield South Carolina, Bonifay and Bethlehem in Holmes County Florida, as well as Columbus Georgia. Does any of this sound familiar?

My great grandfather was Silas Peter Barentine. He was born 4/9/1857 in Georgia. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters (that I know of): James, Gus, Charles, Ella and Rebecca.

He married Sarah Ellen Baker, year and place unknown. They had 10 children, all died in infancy except my grandmother, James Ruby Barentine. She was born 1/4/1893 in Colin County Texas.

I am new to geneology. Can you connect this to our Silas?

I believe I am descended from Silas Monroe Barentine's daughter Patricia. I am descended from James Henry Duncan who married Martha Patti Barentine in Pulaski County, Arkansas in 1876. I would love any information on the families.
