I too am a descendant of Abraham Burkdoll living in Switzerland Co., IND. I've done a great deal of research on this family. Please email me, BUT REMOVE both xx's in front of name first. Can avoid junk mail that way.

Did Abraham Burkdoll have a son name Stephen who married Amarinthia Eaglin in Kentucky? They are my ancestors, and I am told that Stephen's father was named Abraham. They later lived in Indiana. - Debbie

Abraham did have a son named Stephen M. Burkdoll and also an older brother named Stephen. The genealogy that I have on all of the Burkdoll line is at this web site on Rootsweb/Ancestry

http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=jlnoell

The son Stephen is listed in the 1850 census for Howard Co, IN while living with his father and siblings. They had moved there from Swizterland Co. IN. He married Phobe Ann Richards:

Tipton County, Indiana
Marriages 1844-1870 Bk. 1: Aug. 1844-May 1852 Bk. 2: June 1852-Dec. 1864 Bk. 3: Jan. 1865-Nov. 1870
Compiled by Ruth M. Slevin

County: Tipton
Name: Pheby Ann Richards
Spouse: Stephen Burkdoll
Marriage Date: 28 Aug 1853
Book: 2
Original Source Page: 38

The brother Stephen I have married to a Catherine. However I have not found where he migrated to from PA and was wondering if he was the Stephen Barkdoll found in the 1830 census for Dearborn County, IN. or the 1810 OH census. The last census I did find him in was the 1800 Addison Twp, Somerset Co, PA census as noted on the notes on my web page.

There is confusion on the spelling of the Burkdoll in various documents. I have seen it in the indexes as Barkdoll, Berkdoll, Barkdoll and various other variations.

Evidently, there is another Stephen Burkdoll/Barkdoll. My ancestor is listed in thd 1850 Census for Switzerland County, Ind., but under the spelling Stephen Bergsdole, age 23. His wife Amarinthia, 21 is listed as Amintha. Their daughter Rosettha (spelled Rosetih in the Census) was my great-grandmother.

Have you seen this index for Jackson County Indiana WPA-1882-1920 death records? This is where I first picked up Armarintha with the Burkdoll name. I don't know who Ephram is nor do I know and of the Burkdall's listed but they may be just misspelled.

BURKDALL, LAWRENCE JACKSON 1907/09/25 SEYMOUR H27 005
BURKDALL, LAWRENCE JACKSON 1907/09/25 SEYMOUR CH1 141
BURKDALL, WESLEY JACKSON 1896/08/11 SEYMOUR H18 005
BURKDOLL, ARMARINTHA JACKSON 1910/06/15 SEYMOUR CH2 026
BURKDOLL, EPHRAM JACKSON 1908/01/02 SEYMOUR CH2 004

This partial listing is from Rootsweb.

Hi. I am Pam McKinney's daughter. Mom said she met you and you were going to provide our Robert's geneology. How is that coming along? Mom is also worried about Aunt Irene.
