I am also interested in finding information on Jacob Newhouse, particularly his wife Martha Zachary. I located Jacob and Martha in the 1870 Tangipahoa Parish, LA census, living between her mother and her half-brother John Miley. Please contact me at april.page@tenethealth.com.

My great grandfather was Thomas Casanova and he was married in New Orleans in 1886. Is it possible that he was the son of Jacob Casanova? My uncle told me that there was a Casanova reunion a few weeks ago but we were unable to attend. We plan to attend next year. You can E-mail me at mumswil4@aol.com if I can help.

Jean, I am the gggranddaughter of Jacob and Martha Zachary Casanova. I am looking for a Thomas Casanova that came over on the boat 2-22-1847, to the port of New Orleans. I believe your Thomas L. was born 1860 in New Orleans and was the son of Frank Gabriel Casanova. My Thomas was 17 in 1847 so he was born about 1830. I am also looking for Thomas Green Casanova, first born of Jacob and Martha. He was born 1862 and married a Laura L. Vineyard in 1884. Your Uncle Gene stopped at our reunion 8-03-2002 in Hammond. He gave me pictures of the tombstones in Logtown, Ms. I would like to discuss this more with you. My e-mail is v-mcpherson@webtv.net

Alisha,Jacob used the name Newhouse in 1860 when he married Martha and in the 1870 census. Then he changed back to Casanova in 1880 census. He came over on the ship as Casanova. Jacob and Martha had 12 children. There is Christina, born after Christian. She was born about 1871. You can e-mail me at v-mcpherson@webtv.net
