I have a Harry Cummins. I have very little information on him. He died in 1935. I will guess around Butler or New Castle, PA. He was married to Agnes Emory. (9 Apr 1883 - 28 May 1964)
They had (at least) a daughter named Ina Mae (28 Aug 1906 - 29 Jan 1966)
Ina Mae married Frederick Maxwell Downs (8 Aug 1908 - 13 Jan 1972) on 24 Nov 1926 in PA.
Ina Mae & Frederick had about 9 children, some are still living in Penn. or Calif.

I believe we are looking for the same Cummins. The name that I have is Henry and he was married to Matilda Kilborn. They lived in Allen County, Indiana and had a daughter named Mary who married Ambrose Ashton. I don't have much but I will share what I have with you.

I was searching for Armey's and I found that you were looking for cummins. I was surprised to see all the names that I'am so used to hearing. The one thing that I can tell you for sure is that Frank Longardener is my great grandfather. Frank's daughter Madonna Eileen (Longardener)Armey Schooling fiscus is my grandmother. I noticed that you mention a Harry Armey, I have been busting my brain trying to figure out who he is. If you notice my grandmother married an Armey, so I'am sure that Harry fits in there. I have some info on a Henry Armey. I must have also heard the name Driver a thousand times, but I will have to work on that one. My grandmothers sister also married an Armey. His name was Paul. The name Dorothy Driver really stands out. You mention Ft. wayne alot, my grandmother was born there. Well I know that I wasn't much help, but I will start looking and see if I can't find some things that might be helpful. I'am not possitive but I think I remember my father mentioning Cummins a time or two, I will have to look though his stuff and see if I can find anything.

I know why I have heared the name Driver so much. My great grandfather Farnk Longardener married Bessie E. Driver. She was born in Allen co., and she at one time lived in Pleasent Lake, Indiana. I believe that they might have lived in Ft. wayne at one time, Frank was a detective and Ft. Wayne might have been were he work. Allen county is in Ft. Wayne isn't it. My grandmother and father lived in Ft. Wayne in a house behind the zoo. Well I will keep looking.

I have a marriage license of one of Frank Longardener's daughter's getting married. What is strange about that is that the groom, which is my grandfather Willard Jay Armey has consent signed by his father Benjamine Harrison Armey. Benjamine signed his name Harry Armey. Benjamine's was born in silver Lake, Indiana and lived in Pleasent Lake, Indiana.

Searching for information on Josiah Roberts' ancestors. He purchasd a plot of land in Allen County, IN 1846 from Zachariah Ashton and wife Polly (Warren Co., OH) Z. and Polly also deeded land to Ambrose Ashton, husband of Mary Cummins, and another section to Daniel Miller. Ambrose Ashton is shown as born in NY, so was our Josiah Roberts and there may be a relationship here that is difficult to discern. Please contact Frank Roberts bfhenry@netdoor.com

I too have only today discoverd Ambrose Ashton in the roots of my husbands family tree. We also have him married to Mary A. Cummings. On Dec 29, 1863, They had a son George and a Daughter named Nellie, George being my hubbys G.G. Grandad. I have more on The later Ashton tree if you are interested.
