Am seeking info on my great-grandmother Mary Falvey who was born around 1842 in Ireland. She married Thomas Dooley of Tulla, County Clare, Ireland, and they immigrated to NY around 1888. Their children were: Thomas Aloyiussus Dooley, Mary Dooley Dinan, Elizabeth Dooley Larke, Bridget Dooley, Catherine Dooley, John Dooley, Agnes Dooley, Anne Doolie, Nellie Dooley, and Maggie Dooley. All except John were born in Tulla, County Clare, Ireland; John was born in NY around 1891. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Where in NY did they emigrate to? My Falveys are from Co. Clare, perhaps around Sixmilebridge (Feenagh-Wilson?). Earliest known relative is John Falvey (b. about 1830) who married Bridget Fitzgerald in Clonlara (near Limerick) in 1860, had a son Thomas in 1861 who was baptised at Sixmilebrige. John and Bridget emigrated to the area of Rosendale, NY (Ulster Co.) in 1862, leaving Thomas with her parents, and they had 8 more children: John, Michael, Mary Ann, Patrick, Peter, James, Bridget, William (order of middle ones may be off). I've not been able to tie John to any particular family in Clare to date.

Hi Maura,

My Falvey is my great-grandmother, Mary Falvey. She married Thomas Dooley of Tulla, County Clare; I'm not sure if Mary was from Tulla or not. Their children were (not in order, I'm working on that!): Thomas, Elizabeth, Margaret, John (died in infancy), John J., Nellie, Anne, Agnes, Mary, and Bridget. All of the children were born in Tulla except for John and John J. who were born in NY. The family immigrated to Brooklyn, NY around 1888 and settled first on North Henry Street and then on Dupont Street. I don't know of any relatives in Ulster County. And I just don't know yet where in Ireland Mary Falvey hailed from.

If you should ever find where Mary came from, let me know. I don't think there were too many Falveys in the county at that time.

Hi Ann
I looking for information about Bridget Dooley, I don't know if this is the right one, but I have to start some where. Do you have any information on Bridget, like when she was born, who she married etc. The Bridget Dooley I'm looking for married Michael Wall. If you have any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Vi
