Have information on Irgang's dating back to 1640 in Wiesenthal Germany. My grandmother was Dora Reibert Radke (b12/11/1889)-daughter of Barbara Elizabeth Irgang Reibert (b 3/2/1864) - daughter of Tobias Irrgang(b9/13/1831) and Katherine Margaretha Schuck (b11/29/1831) (other children of Tobias and Katherine were Frederick, August Wilhelm, Valentine, Katherine Margaretha and Andreas (Adam) all born in 1850's and 1860's- Tobias was son of Kasper Adam Irrgang (b 11/20/1810). I will stop there - respond to posting if need further information.

Irgangs, Reibert, Radke

Would be interested in any or all you would have on these related families. My wife has an interest in finding more on those Reiberts and Radke's. We have gotten records from the historical society in the Streator area that you may very well be interested in seeing. Cousin Mary Egan-Elbert

Hi Sean & anyone else out there looking into the Reibert Family in Germany. It is a less than common name and seems to originate in the small town of Himbach, Oberhessien, from an earlier spelling "Reippert" and so on. About 1820 they started spreading out, immigrating to USA & Australia. Still a lot of Reiberts in that town. Drop me a line or look at my on line tree. There's a good likelihood we are distant cousins.

Ron - where can I locate your family tree? I have hit a dead-end with a Casper Reibert, born about 1862 in Germany, died 7/5/02 in Streator, IL. May have immigrated around 1877 and was naturalized in 1883. He married Barbara Elizabeth Irrgang who was from Wiesenthal, Saxe Weihar,Germany. Does any of this fit into your tree?

I tried to write you directly but it was returned 2 times to me. I'm not related by Casper but by Katherina Reibert born 1865 in Himbach. It's posted here on Rootsweb. I'm pretty certain that all the Reibert lines originated there, so you may try finding him in that region before he moved away.
Have you written to Germany yet or followed up any leads there?
I recommend that you write to the following for birth and death details on in the Himbach area, which is northeast of Frankfurt am Main.

Hessische Familiengeschichtliche Vereinigung
Karolinenplatz 3 (Staatsarchiv)

Your Casper or Kasper Reibert or his parents were most likely born in Himbach and the above archive has been most helpful to me in tracing my Reibert lines.

I'm curious if you had had any success since your initial posting for finding more information on Casper Reibert? I'm researching my wife's family line and we have similarly dead-ended with Casper. Would appreciate a response. Thanks

No, I haven't had time to broaden my search thru the whole line yet. It would be nice! I do hope to return there in a couple years. I recommend writting to the address below as they helped me considerably. Casper is almost certainly connected to this line from the small towns around Himbach near Budingen. I also located a distant cousin who had a WWII era Ahnentafel corroberating and adding to what I had from them on the origins of this family.
Write them! Tell them everything you know or think you know about him and I bet they can answer you.
Let me hear how it turns out too!
