I am looking for information on Georg Frederick Thiede and his wife, Regina Wilhelmina Voss. Georg was born January 27, 1805 in Prussia. They had children as follows: Fritz, Carl Friedrich Wilhelm, Adophe, Marie, Anton, Johan Paul Herman, August, Adele and a 2nd August. Does anyone know anything about any of these people?

Georg Fredrick Thiede was my Great great grandfather. Ihave been searching for any of his ancestoral ties but haven't found any beyond him. All that I have I got off the Morman website. I am descended from his son John Paul Herman. If you have any other geneology than what is on the web please let me know.

If the info that I received just today from Eileen Jones is correct, than you and I are related. She told me that my gggrandfather and his brother Herman Thiede are brothers to her August Thiede. I will be waiting to hear from you. I am willing to exchange info, as I have lots on John and Herman Thiede.

Hi Ken,
Do you know if your John was Mormon and settled in Utah and had a son named David? Also had one wife stolen by the indians in Wyoming?

Laurie:
Sorry to say, but John was not a Mormon. His parents and John belonged to the Lutheran Church. I have Mormons in another branch of my family tho. My gggrandmother Mary Brown(Mrs. Thomas Blakely), had a sister Sarah Brown, who married Wilford Woodruff, 7th President of the Mormon Church. Sorry that I cannot help you.

I'm getting confused on some of the geneology anyways. It was my G. Grandfather Grundvig whose wife the Indians stole. I also found my Grandfather's obit. which lists his father as Herman Thiede and mother as Augusta Pauline Stein Thiede. My Grandfather's name was David Thiede and Grandmother's name was Eliza Grundvig Thiede.
Does any of this fit in anywhere? I've emailed Eileen this as well. Found her August list on the Mormon site as being nephew of John Paul Herman Thiede. Their website is the only one that I have found anything at all on and I know that some of the dates are not right on ther because it lists my Grandmother Eliza as dying in 1980 and she died in 1977.
Let me know if anything rings a bell .

Message to Sue Reiss and Laurie Thiede:

I have been speaking to Eileen Jones in England and she told me about finding this Thiede information on the message board. My husband, Frederick W. Trient, was a Thiede on his father's maternal side. Although adopted, Frederick William Trient, Sr., was born of "family" and it is surmised that the mother was Bertha, daughter of Bertha Mielitz and Carl Wilhelm Fredrich Thiede. Little Bertha's brother was "Uncle Ben" (August Adolph Benj. Thiede) nephew of John Paul Hermann. Would love to share info. Carl W.F. Thiede died right before the rest of the family came to the U.S. (SLC, Utah). I am very interested in knowing who they came with. Did John Paul Hermann bring his family over also? Looking forward to hearing from you.
