Searching for an ophanage called National Council of the Jr. O. of U.A.M. of U.S. of N.A. Home located in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. That is the info my aunt was able to find in the 1920s census. I have 3 great uncles who were in this home since 1917approx. I'm not sure where to look for this home or the records from this orphanage. Anybody out there hear of it or know where it is or if it is still standing. Any help in locating this info is very much appreciated.
Sandy
Please email me any info.

Sandy,

Was just browsing and came across your older posting.

My mother, aunt & uncle grew up in Jr. OUAM Home in Tiffin, OH.

Thought I'd let you know there is a book that was published within the last 10 yrs called Don't Call Us Orphans by Tricia Valentine regarding the Tiffin home.

It contains many photos, "interviews" with former home kids. In the back of the book there is an index that lists all kids by year of entrance, year left and what state they were from.

Was an amazing find in my family search. Found my copy of the book through a used book store. Not sure if it's still in publication.

Good Luck. Patricia

I am interested in finding a copy of the book you mentioned. I think my father may have been in this home in the 1920's and/or 30's. I have contacted Tricia Valentine, and my letter and book order was returned unopened. Do you have a more current address for her? If not, could you contact me about possibly photocopying the index, or at least checking for my father's name? I would appreciate any help that you could give me.

Thanks so much, Margaret
