Only a suggestion, and cannot see how it could be proved, but could it be that the person who recorded it, for some reason or other just mixed up "nationality" with "race"? Good luck anyway,

After skimming through some of the other certificates, I noticed there were others also with "am" as choice for race...but there were also many with "white."

Makes me wonder as these were all in Texas, if the person who was entering "am" was using that as "American" as opposed to one of Mexican birth???

Virginia

I am being to believe that is correct because the other family members I have found now are white, the name was misspelled so I didn't make the connection.

Thank you to all of you
