My Ridinger family line

Surnames: Redd, Ridinger, Wylie
I am trying to trace back my Ridinger Line. My great-grandfather was James M. Wylie (Wiley) b. 1830 in Warren Co. OH, he was the son of Frances Ridinger and David Wiley who married July 22 1822 in Warren County OH. Frances was born c. 1800 to Andrew Ridinger and possibly Celia ?. Frances died in Warren county in 1837 and around that time the family relocated to Fountain Co. IN.
I believe that Andrew and his wife had quite a few children, including Celia (who married Arthur Trader), John born c. 1809 (he married Elizabeth ?), and possibly a Jesse also. I am still researching all of this. Andrew was born in Berks Co. PA, and I believe his father was Michael and his brother was Henry. Andrew also served in the Revolutionary War, but is listed as Andrew Ridenour.
There is a cemetery in Livingston County IL near Saunemin that quite a few of the Ridingers in my line are buried in. I was just there a couple of days ago and I now have more questions, ( as usual). If anyone recognizes any of the names I have listed I would greatly appreciate any help that I can get.
I just recently found a will for a Michael Reddinger in Berks County PA, dated 1799. It lists Henry, Andrew, and 2 daughters as his children.

My grandmother is Addie Belle Wylie, who is the oldest daughter of James Madison Wylie, and the wife of Edward Harvey Redd. All of the above are burried at Five Mile Cemetery outside of Saunemin, Livingston County, Illinois. I have also visited this cemetery and noticed some Ridinger gravestones. My Father's name was Harry Leon Redd. Please contact me and hopefully we can fill in some of our missing information.

Redinger is a name in my family tree, but that does not ring a bell as part of this name does it? I typed in Redinger and it gave me two other name option one of which was Ridinger. I am not a Ridinger but wondered if the name may be part of my family. I am from Muskingum County, Ohio and my sister went to the Muskingum college there.

Billy,
Our family name was also Redinger at one time. When the family was in Berks County PA around the end of the 18th century it was spelled Redinger. As they moved west into Ohio, Indiana and finally Illinois, it somehow evolved into Ridinger. I have a lot of my information on my other computer and in files that are at my parents house right now, but I will look into them and see what information I can find to help you in any way. Please let me know what information you have on your ancestors and we might find a connection. My gggggggrandfather Andrew Ridinger had a brother (Henry I believe, and just from memory his father was i think Michael) and they kept the name as Redinger as far as I can find.

My Jesse Ridinger, born c. 1799 in VA was married to Mary Ann Riggs. They lived in Warren County, OH. He was married by 1824 and his sons, James F. and John W. were born there in 15 Nov. 1824 and 3 Jan 1827 respectively, and a daughter also, born between 1820 and 1825. This may have been a Martha born circa 1823 who married James Trader. By 1829 they moved to Fountain County, IN where we find Jesse and family listed in the Census in 1830. They may have also lived in Vermillion County, IN in the 1830's. Children born in this vicinity were: Sarah Jane circa 1829; Nicholas P. circa 1831; Jasper circa 1833; and Mary Elizabeth 30 Nov 1836. Jesse circa 1837 or 1835 lists Vermillion Co. for birth place. The family seems to have moved next to Livingston County, IL. Children born in this vicinity were: Isaac Jackson 2 Apr 1840; Mulvina (Melvina, Rubina) 25 Dec 1842 or 1845; and Eliza circa 1846. The family moved to Randolph County, IL next. A daughter, Ellen Ann was probably born there. The parent Jesse and wife Mary Ann and family are listed in the 1850 Census there. Jesse died not long after this census. There is confusion by me as to whether the Vermillion County is the one in IN adjacent to Fountain County or the nearby Vermillion County in IL. James, Jesse and Isaac (Ike) were all Union veterand of the Civil War from Schuyler or Brown County, IL. In Isaac's pension records he states that his father (Jesse Ridinger) died in 1850. The family then moved to Lima Lake, IL according to his pension records. His mother (Mary Ann Riggs Ridinger) was supposed to have died before the war. I have not found her in the 1860 Census. I have located a Lima, IL in Adams County, IL north of Quincy.
Children of Jesse and Mary Ann:
1) James F. m. 29 Jun 1848 IL, Diana Vance.
2) John W. m. 1) 2 Jul 1858 Canton, MO, Paulina Plisha Null
m. 2) 28 Nov 1867 Daviess Co., MO, Angeline Davis
3)poss. Martha m. James Trader living Schuyler Co, IL 1860
4)Sarah Jane m. 1) 29 Jun 1848 IL, Isaac Riggs
m. 2) John Sanford
5)Nicholas P. poss. m. Maggie Casteal 2 Jul 1886 Livingston Co., IL
6) Jasper
7) Jesse poss. m. Malvina ?- he died Ft. Donelson 28 Feb 1862
8) Mary Elizabeth m. 1857 Peter Davis
9) Isaac Jackson m. 23 Sep 1866 Mt. Sterling, Brown Co., IL, Josephine Bratton
10) Mulvina (Melvina, Rubina) m. 18 Jun 1863 Brown Co., IL, William Agans
11) Eliza E.
12) Ellen Ann
Some of the family remained in the Camden, Schuyler County area, and their photos are part of the historical society records there. Notably Mulvina and Isaac.
Some of the family moved farther west. James F. spent some time between Mo and KS, finally settling near his brother John and sister Mary Elizabeth Davis in Daviess County, MO.

I have seen spellings for the above individuals using Ridinger, Radinger, Redinger, Reidinger, etc. In IL they seem to often use Radinger. In MO they use Ridinger.

I am descended from John W. and his first wife. I would love to be able to connect John's father, Jesse to Andrew Ridinger (Ridenour). Did Andrew Ridinger leave a will, probate or land records? What makes you suggest that Andrew had a son Jesse? What leads us to connect Andrew Ridinger with the Revolutionary War veteran Andrew Ridenour? Has anyone done any research in Livingston County, Il or Randolph Co., IL?

Kelly,
I had this on Celia but not Sarah.
These are from Clinton Co. OH.
Sarah Ridinger m. Isaac Riggs 10-12-1817
Celia Ridinger m. Arthur Trader 1-29-1818
Celia Ridinger received consent to marry from her father Andrew Ridinger.

Also if you look up Andrew Ridinger in the 1820 census in Clinton Co. OH. He is on the same page as Arthur Trader and Isaac Riggs.

I am researching my ggggrandfather, John Trader, b. Ohio, lived in Dearborn/Ohio counties in Indiana, near Cincinnati from marriage in 1861 until death in 1865.

I followed Arthur and a John Trader from Clinton Co OH to Fountain Co IN to Illinois in the census but have not found if they are related to my ancestor.

Do you have more info on the above Traders that may help me with my brickwall, John Trader? For example, do you know where they lived before Clinton Co OH?

Thanks.
