Surnames: Porter, Wilson.
The family of James and Sarah Mont Wilson from Wayne Co.WV is the connection to the Porter cherokee blood line. Article by Bryan Morris in "Out of the Past" column in the Wayne Co news July 7.1976 tells of James and Sarah's many children and a petion filed in the court by two grand sons of Sara's, Hiram and Jackson Wilson, asking the Cherokee National Concil for citizenship which they claimed by Cherokee Indian Blood line.I have this Porter research back to 1600.

Hi,
My husband is related to David Porter (1842) born in Ireland, lived in Brooklyn New York... he is his great grandfather. Do you have any information on David Porter? Does he have a connection to Cherokee blood lines?

I have my Porter line back to James Porter born 1803 some where in Pennsylvania and died in Lawrence County in 1860 and can't find his parents. Would he be in your line.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately, James Porter is not in our family tree... only Henry, Samuel, and David (1842-1847). Where is the Cherokee connection?
