Hi Sally,
I don't remember if I ever replied to you about Philip Earhart. I know Philip came from Frederick Co., VA. He was married to a lady with the first name of Mary, she died and he later married Phoebe Drake, a widow. Both are buried in Marion Co., MO. They had a son named Phillip Earhart who was married to Leann Graham in Marion Co., MO. This Phillip wrote a lot of articles for the paper in Palmyra, Mo. and I'm lucky enoough to have most of them. Phillip and Leann spent all their life in Palmyra and both are buried in Palmyra, MO. They had a son named Thomas who was into the Earhart genealogy and found out that we were related to Amelia Earhart. He wrote to her and she wrote back to him saying that he was right and she was glad to hear from another cousin. This was in 1930--I have tried to find the connection but so far have had no luck. I have no information on the first Philip Earhart other then dates and such. Any help that you could give me on the first Philip would be appreciated very much. Linda Irick DLIRICK@AOL,COM

My ancestor Philip Earhart, who was mg to Mary Funk, died I believe in 1805 in Frederick Co, Va. I don't have a copy of his will, only the index listing.
Mary Funk Earhart came to Hardin Co, Ky to live near her daughters Nancy Castleman Mary Arnold.
In Mary Funk Earhart's will written in 1821, she list sons: Jacob, John Philip and daughters: Elizabeth, Mary, Lydia Rachael. Also deceased daughter Nancy Susannah.

Hi Sally,
Would you share a copy of Mary's will with me? If so just send it by e-mail to DLIRICK@AOL.COM I hope we can tie this together. I've been working on this line for awhile now. Linda

I think that the John Earhart you spoke of, son of Mary Funk and Phillip Earhart, is on my grandfather's side.

John S. Earhart married Catherine (no last name).

John and Catherine's son, John B. Earhart b. c1797 in Washington County Maryland, married someone (no name yet), and had a son: George Curry Earhart b. 6/1835 in Ohio, d. 10/31/1862 in Civil War (buried at Military Cemetary, St. Louis., MO).

George Curry married Amanda Melvina Arnett in 1855 and had four children: Theodore Phillip b. 4/3/1857, James Henry b. 1/5/1856, Mary Elizabeth b. 2/19/1859 and Amanda Melvina b. 12/28/1860.

Theodore Phillip married Tempa Langson and had a daughter, Mary Mable Earhart, b.1/21/1893 in Doniphan County, KS. Mary is my great-grandmother on my paternal grandfather's side.

Can anyone fill in the missing pieces for me?

According to info I copied, but do not have original records to prove:
John died 1846 in Ohio & was mg to Catherine Brendel on 22 Mar 1795 in Hagerstown, Washington Co, Md.
Jacob is also listed as Preblo, Ohio
Lydia Earhart who mg John Frederick is listed as LaRue, Marion Co, Ohio
I don't have any of the children of John, Jacob or Lydia.
Hope we are the researching the same Philip & Mary Earhart, because I have a lot of gaps in my research. I don't have access to many Va or Md records.

Hello:
I am also looking for Earharts in Hagarstown, Washington County, MD. I have only found one census report of my ADDISON EARHART, and his children. The 1900 Census, Hagarstown, Maryland shows Addison widowed with four children; Daisy - 23, Nora B. - 21, Howard A. - 16, and Rose - 12 years old. The census also notes all five individuals were born in Maryland. Lists Addison as a "loan (?) moulder" Family oral history has him married to a woman by the name of Lillian Hammersla (sp?)

Do you link to this Maryland Earhart line? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Donna dloper3@home.com

Hi Donna,
I have been working on this line for ages and I haven't got any where on the Earhart's. My line goes:
Linda Smith Irick
Florence E. Hayden
Mary Glover Crane Hayden
Amelia Graham Earhart
Phillip M Earhart
Phillip M Earhart
George Earhart?
(Maybe, family members say its George but I can not prove it)
Sorry but I don't think I can be much help. Your names do not fit any where in my Earhart line. Linda

I don't know anything about the Earharts in Md in 1900.
My branch came to Ky in the early 1800, and since I am connected to the female side, the Earhart name disappeared.
