Hi. Valentine Guinan is my great grandfather. He married Johanna (Hannah) Golgan. they had two children, Anna Marie and John. I'm pretty sure they came from Shannon Harbor Ire.
I have no information before Valentine. If anybody can help me, it would be great. Also info about John Guinan would be helpful. It's nice to know theres so many Guinans out there.

I know it is a few years since you posted this message on roots web but I think we are related. I think that you great grandfater is my great uncle. I don't know if you got anything from this query but if this is correct Valentine would have been my grand mother's brother and he died in 1946.

Would you be the son of either Edward or Eric? I have a family tree done up in about 1980 when a sister (Katherine M. Stevenson nee Guinan) died and her inheritance was being shared.

John Guinan died in 1960 according to records that I have.

Hello from a Guinan in Boston. My own family came from the Shannon Harbor area where Roscommon/Offaly meet. I've been doing some digging in this area, although there's only a few Guinans left there. Is there any way you would share any of the genealogy your family member compiled, or is it online anywhere? My gr gr grandfather was Patrick Guinan, married to Mary Furey. Anything sound familiar?

By the way, there's a gentleman named Sharmin ? (I can dig up his last name) who has been also looking for Guinans and Kennys in this area, and he mentioned the name Valentine as well. Perhaps you've read some of his postings?

Just searching family names and I cam across your post. The Ginan family stil live and own the pub in Shannon Harbour, I am the graddaughter of Bridget Guinan who was a sister to Valentine etc

I live in Ireland and spent child hood days in Shannon Harbour visiting.

Wild guess here, so...My great grandfather was Robert Patrick Guinan(born around 1861 in Ireland, possibly Limerick), he had a brother Edward and a sister Bridget...they came to the US around 1880 (QueensTown to Liverpool to New York)..."Pat" moved to California, not sure where Edward went, and Bridget went to New York area after brief stay in California.

I have no info as to who his parents are etc. We might even be related...Bridget (if this is the same woman) was my grandmother (Marguerite Mary Guinan DeVoe)'s aunt.

Apologies re delay in replying . I dont think they are the same as Bridget never went to USA and had three children in Offaly or Kings County as it was then known.The Irish 1901 and 1911 census are now on line and you should be able to trace Guinans on that.
