William Virgil "Fabius, was born in Fabius, Oct. 9, 1865, a son of Stephen and Ann (Palmer) Virgil, he a native of Fabius, and she of Pompey. The grandfather, James, spent his life in Fabius, and the maternal grandfather, Noah Palmer, was one of the earliest settlers of Pompey, where he died. Stephen Virgil died Sept. 22, 1891, and his wife died in 1874. Our subject was reared on a farm and educated in the common schools, and has chosen farming for a vocation, now owning a fine place of 30 acres, and having a quarter interest in the 70 acres of homestead farm, which he works."
