I have some notes on the McNair family. I have research some on the McNairs here in Stapleton, Ga.

John McNair was fatally wounded in a fight by Wallace M. Dorn who was a City Councilman. This occured in December of 1927 on Milledgeville, Rd in Augusta, Ga. Dorn was indicted for the assault and murder of John McNair.

Mary Alice Parish McNair, died 5-12-1941 in Gainsville, Fla at her daughters home, Mrs. E. S. Ivey. Mary Alice was born and reared in Jefferson County, Ga and had been living with her daughter several years before her death. She was the widow of James Sidney McNair. Sons were, Robert Lee of Wrens, J. D. McNair of Lake Wales, Florida, J. L. McNair of Marion, Florida. Brothers, Roombs Parish, Augusta, Ga, Ollie Parish, Charleston, SC, C. H. Parish, Wrens, Ga and sister, Mrs. Lula Gay of Augusta, Ga. Her remains were at her sons house, Robert Lee McNair until the hour of the funeral which was held in Reedy Creek Baptist Church Yard. Mary Alice was born on August 8th, 1866.

McNairs buried in Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

10-3-1926 - John McNair of St. Petersburg, Florida is visiting relatives near Wrens, Ga.

10-24-1926 - Lee McNair, of Stapleton, Ga was in Wrens, Ga Thursday for shopping.

7-20-1930 - Mr. John McNair of Gainesville Florida is visiting his brother, Lee McNair.

Joan, I have a close friend that was married to a McNair here in Stapleton, Ga - Jefferson County that I can contact. Years back there was also a Parrish family that ran and owned a business here in Stapleton, Ga.

The Augusta Chronicle, Stapleton, Georgia News dated 11-27-1926. W. H. Parish and sons have opened a movie picture show in the building joining their store. Everything has been repainted. Friends are invited to come in and see a good picture each evening.

The Augusta Chronicle, Stapleton, Georgia News dated 6-7-1931. William H. Parish and Jesse Lee Parish made a business trip to Augusta, Georgia.
