I am searching for information on the Strathmore Lyons -- I trace from James Lyon - his son George who was Baillie of Inverary in Aberdeenshire, to 3 sons of George who came to Canada -- George Lyon, Robinson Lyon, and Robert Lyon, the latter who came to Perth Ontario, Canada in 1833. He would have been about 20 years at that time or younger. He was a young law student who was then killed in the last fatal duel fought in Upper Canada. I would like information on other members of this family and more specific detail on where they came from. Information on both Scotland and time in Canada is requested.

Hi,
I am interested in the Lyon family as a George Byron Lyon c1816 to 1876 married into the Fellowes family and later took the name Lyon-Fellowes. G.B Lyon was the son of Captain George Lyon 1790-1851 (i think) of Richmond, Ontario, He in turn was said to be the son of Bailie George Lyon of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire 1766-1837. who married Elspet Phillips and had around six more children; Mary 1799, William 1802, Margaret 1805, Catherine 1806 Robinson 1810 and Robert 1812 (of the duel fame)
