I googled Colpoys family of Co. Clare Ireland as an ancestor of mine Thomas Hickman of Barntic Co Clare married Jane d. of John Colpoys of Ballycar Co Clare. His Will was dated 1677. I think you will find a Hickman of Barntic thread on ancestry. I realise that this may not help you, but might be of interest. I have an ordnance survey map of Clare and found Ballycar, Barntick (spelled with a K) and Clonroad - the latter two close to Ennis and Ballycar near Newmarket on Fergus. Their son Thomas married Gertrude d. of General Gore of Clonroad. AlisamondL
