We have started a small CRAWFORD e-mail discussion group for descendants of James, Andrew, Joseph, and Vincent CRAWFORD who were found in 1860 Panola Co, TX along with descendants of Robert F. CRAWFORD who was found in 1860 Nacogdoches Co, TX and believed to be their brother. These men originated in Pike Co, GA and before that from Abbeville Dist, SC. Another brother, Joseph, stayed in Pike Co, GA and there is evidence of another brother, Edmund C who died abt. 1850 in Pike Co, GA. My gggf Thomas CRAWFORD is buried in the Waldrup Cementary in Panola county. As is his son Jesse Pitt CRAWFORD. Also my gf Neuflus Baldridge CRAWFORD is buried in the SEALEY plot in this same cementary. This is located in Fair Play.

Hi, I'm looking for info on Robert CRAWFORD b. 1815 in Abbeville, SC. He married Mary C. GRAY in 1846 in Panola Co., TX. Their dau. Mary Francis CRAWFORD m. Robert William WHITE in the early 1900's, possibly near Galveston TX. Any info would be appreciated on this CRAWFORD family.

I have a Mary Susan Gray who married Thomas Milton Cleveland in Panola County, TX, in 1872. Her parents were William M C Gray and Elizabeth Winder. They married in 1851 in Panola County.

My Mary C. Gray's parents were Daniel Gray and Phebe Godfrey as my records show. But given the locality there does seem to be a chance there is some connection between these Gray families. Do you have any dates on extraneous family members or names that might create a link? I could send you a report on my Grays to see if any are familiar to you. I also have another Mary Gray, listed as dau. of John Gray and Hannah Lumpkin, but this Mary was born 1640, most likely in Mass. This John Gray was born in England and is the ancestor to the previously mentioned Daniel Gray. I'll attempt to make a report at any rate and send it to you directly. Let me know if you see anything that looks worth pursuing.

Did you ever receive a reply to your query? I have 5 children for the marriage of Elizabeth Jane Winder and William M C Gray-- 4 siblings plus Mary Susan Gray, born 1852 Panola County Texas.

1. Mary Susan Gray
2. Sarah (called Sack) Gray, born 1855
3. Jane Gray, born about 1858
4. Willie Gray, born 1859
5. Annie Gray, born 1864

Birth dates are calculated from 1860 & 1870 census records of Panola County.
