Pat:

Can you point me in the direction of documentation that shows James as the name of the father of Winifred "Winnie" (Wilson) Biggs? Her son Dorsey's household in 1850 included a Seth W. Biggs, and the 1820 will of Seth Wilson in Beaufort Co NC mentioned a daughter "Winey" Biggs. Seth Wilson was a close neighbor of Asa Biggs' brother Reuben.

Thank you very much, Andy, for pointing out a possible discrepancy in my records.
The information came from my husband's Aunt Leona Hutain. I looked through the copies of documentation that I have from her, and I can't find her source on Winifred being the daughter of James, although it is clearly typed on the family sheet.
I will look further, and see what I can come up with. I appreciate hearing about any possible error, and wish to thank you again. Pat Young

I saw your mesage on the board for information on Winifred Biggs. I have the Martin Co. Heritage Book and looked up the name and I don't know if this is any help.
It is printed like this; Winifred m.(married)
Amariah (?) Biggs. Winifred parents are
Seth Wilson (1760-1820)m. 1st. Mary (Millie) Duggin (1765-1818). Mary (Millie) Duggin was the daughter of Aaron Duggin and Susannah Swain. Susannah was the daugher of John Swain and Elizabeth Smithwick. I don't know if this information has helped or confused.
Please let me know if this is the your family. Thanks. Mary

Thanks Mary. Any information helps. I found a Amariah Biggs in the census. He probably was a relation of my husbands, but not direct. But I thoroughly believe that any and all information helps, no matter if it seems to confuse the issue at the present or not. Thanks again. Pat

Winnefred/Winifred/Winny Wilson, wife of Asa Biggs, is transcribed as "Wincey Biggs" in the 1826 will of her father, Seth Wilson Sr., of Beaufort Co NC. See the will at

http://members.tripod.com/linda_walker999/aqwn117.htm

The person posting the will describes him as 'Seth Pilkington Wilson'. Presumably he's the man by that name mentioned in the 1783 will of Winifred Wilson, below.

Beaufort Co records show a Seth Pilkington left a will in 1751 naming a daughter Winifred Pilkington, then apparently an adult.

Note that Asa and Winny's son Dorsey of Bastrop Co TX had a son named Seth W. Biggs, b ca 1832 in TN. His name is mentioned at

I hope that URL works for you. The book excerpted there is "Wilson Families in Colonial Virginia and Related Mason, Seawell, Goodrich, Boush Families, Ancestors and Kin of Benjamin Wilson, 1733-1814", Heritage Books, Westminster MD, 2007.

See pages 48 and 49. Shows Seth Pilkington Wilson as the son of Lemuel Wilson and Winifred Pilkington (or Pilkinton) and takes the line farther back.
