I'm just looking around because I don't know very much about this side of my family. If you are a Southern Norris (the Carolinas, Ga, maybe further out), let me know. I am very interested.

My maternal grandfather is James Edmunson Norris, born in N.C. in 1904. His parents were John David Norris and Aquilla Suggs. John's parents were Robert Norris and Elizabeth Hamilton. Robert's father was named Henry and that is as far as I can go. Any links?

I'm also searching the Norris Family. I've found a lot of information at the Latter Day Saints web site, Family Search Ancestral File. Can't include a link here because it won't drag to this screen. Their site takes the family back to 1549 in England. When you get to their site, just type in the name you are searching for. There are LOTS of Norris' out there. I'm willing to share what information I have.

I am interested in any info you may have on a Micheal Norris who came over to the US from Nova Socia in the 1850's to 1860's. He finally settled in New Jersey. Any information you have reguarding him would be a big help/

My grandfather was James Oliver Norris. He was born in Alabama about 1855 and died in Milam County, TX or in Rosebud, TX about 1908 in a farming accident. He was a farmer. He married Angelina Gray Gilliland (my mother's mom) on 22 September 1886 in Milam County, Texas. Cannot find anything connected to him. Very frustrating. I know he had to have parents even if he did not have siblings.
My grandfather's name on the marriage certificate appeared simply as "Oliver Norris." I have a good copy of the cert.

You may contact me by my e-mail address.

Hope you know something about my grandfather.

Thanks,

Jo

My Grandfather Coleman Norris was born in Ellajay, Ga. in 1912, his father was Land Norris, and grandfather was Ninion Andrew Norris. Supposedly Ninion came to Ga. from North Carolina sometime after the civil war. Any help on Ninion Andrew Norris is appreciated.

When I was in school in Pike Co., AL in the 50's 60's there was a James Oliver Norris in my younger sister's class. He may have been a descendant of some of Pike's pioneer Norrises.
