How funny I was just talking to my grandmother today and she dropped the name Quigg and now I've found a nice cache of information.
I am the great grandson of Raymond Valentine and Geneva Brown, grandson to Joan Margaret Brown, and the son of her daughter Jacalyn Sue King. I'm just beginning my research so I probably don't have anything to add yet. But it's nice to see other family out there looking.
Drop me a line.

John S. Quigg was born in Ireland about 1852 (based on year of wife's birth). He was possibly born in Aghadowey Parish in Londonderry (not far from Coleraine), as his wife's family lived there. He died 3 Apr 1835 in Harper County, KS.
He married Mary Ann Shirley (1 Nov 1855-17 Sep 1941, also died in Harper Cty, KS). I am related through her side of this family.
Her parents were Ann Orr (18 Sep 1809 on the River Rhee, Aghdowey Parish, Londerry - 23 Oct 1895, Quincy, MA) and Valentine Shirley (14 Feb 1804-11 Dec 1895, same birth and death locations).
I have lots of info on the Orr link. Would love to know how to contact you, as I am historian for the Orr Reunion Association, which meets the first Sunday of Aug every year in Mount Vernon, MO. We keep an active database of descendants. My email is elaineorr55@yahoo.com

I should have looked in my notes for J.S. Quigg before I posted. They are:
John S. Quiqq was born in Ireland. He married Mary Ann Shirley, and they first lived in Catasauqua, PA. Later they moved to Indiana. By the time they left Indiana on 3 July 1881 they had four children. The family moved to Harper County, KS, 10 miles from the town of Duquoin. They raised wheat and prospered enough to buy another farm outside of Harper. John died 3 April 1935, presumably in Harper County, KS.

I'm very sure his wife was Mary Ann Shirley. I suppose it's possible there was a first wife, but this family history info was compiled long enough ago that folks knew one another. Other spouses were always listed. Hope this helps.
