Christian L. Christiansen (1870-1931), married to Cora Edith Richart (1876-1941), their children are Ruby (November 10, 1911-September 10, 2001), Carl, George, Lydia, Alfred, Lillian, Laura, Leona, and Charley. Christian is from Denmark, but I don't know from where, who his parents are, or who his siblings are. Can you please help me find that information?

Additional information: He is buried in Ruthton Cemetery, in Ruthton, MN, along with his wife and daughter Ruby (her husband John Henry Miller).

Christian and Cora got married March 24, 1894.

Thank you for helping!!

It looks like this is your first post. More information will help other people find more for you. First, although he is buried in Pipstone County, it looks like he lived mostly in Murray County, so I would recommend posting a message on that board

When you do post, include as much information as you have, including any birth, marriage or death dates you know. That will help narrow down the right family. You can search for census records for free here:
www.familysearch.org
They also have Minnesota state censuses at that site. I could not find the family in 1900 - do you know where they were?

Here is the family in 1900, their name was spelled slightly different. Notice that Christian is listed as a brother in law to Anton Jacksen, so his wife Anna is likely a sister to Christian.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M93S-BSL

Here is the marriage for Anna Christiansen and Anton Jacobsen, it looks like the census was hard to read and mistranscribed as Jacksen.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N7FM-XVZ

Anna and Anton are also buried in Ruthton Cemetery

Thank you! I am still new to finding research, I have birth and death years (Christian Christiansen was buried in Ruthton Cemetary along with his wife, and their daughter Ruby Miller). I will edit the information I have given in my first post.

That part of Minnesota had a large Danish immigrant population. Sometimes in those older obituaries, it actually said the parish or place in Denmark from which they came.
You can contact the county historical society - maybe more than one. Here is the Minnesota Historical Society page that shows them all:

http://www.mnhs.org/localhistory/mho/chsclo.html

They may also have old church records that tell the parish in Denmark.

I did a little searching to see if I could find anything on Christian Laurits Christiansen in Denmark for you. His son Charles' WWI draft card notes that his father was born in Magleby Denmark. And the 1900 US census says that he was born in Apr 1870 and immigrated in 1885.
There was a 'Chr Laur Christiansen', 16, from Magleby who registered to emigrate to the US on Oct 11 1886 onboard the SS Geiser.
And looking in the Magleby parish register there was a Christian Laurits Christiansen born on Apr 14 1870 to Johan Christiansen and Jorgine Marie Gotfredsen.
(He also had at least 2 sisters, Anne and Hanne)

But even more interesting, when I added an exact bd to my Ancestry search I found him on a public family tree titled 'Jørgensen/Jorgensen' owned by 'karnj'. He has that line going back several more generations. You really should consider contacting him.

Hope this helps,

J Murphy
