I, too, go back to Calvin L(uther) Rollins, although I haven't been able to tie Calvin Luther Rollins Sr. to John R. Rollins. They were both in Springplace, Murray Co., Georgia at the same time.

My lineage is as follows:

Calvin Luther Rollins Sr.

Calvin Luther Rollins Jr. born 1854?

George Calvin Rollins Sr. born c1883

George Calvin Rollins Jr. born 1924

William Travis Rollins (me) born 1961

I'd appreciate any information on Calvin Luther Rollins Jr. as well as John R. Rollins.

Thank you,
Bill Rollins

I am the Great Grandson of Calvin Luther Rollins and Bessie (Black) Rollins.

My Grandfather is George Calvin Rollins Sr. I believe that he was probably named after his maternal Grandfather (George Black) and his paternal Grandfather (also named Calvin).

My Fathers name is George Calvin Rollins Jr. I have a brother named George Calvin Rollins III. So the name Calvin, In one form or another, has been in the family since at least c1809 with Calvin L. Rollins.

Bessie (Black) Rollins is buried in Comanche, Co., Texas along with her father, George Black.

I've always been curious as to where Calvin Luther Rollins (Calvin's son, my Great Grandfather) is buried? I've heard through an Aunt, that he was buried near The Texas State Farirgrounds in Dallas.

Nice Chatting,
Bill Rollins

I will put in what I received on John R Rollins.
I wouldn't be surprised if John wasn't the brother of our David Rollins left Randolph Co., NC C: 1815 after his daughter, our line , married in 1811 His grandson Riley Lamb went to Georgia.
Here is all I have other than their children down the line.

He went from North Carolina to what is now Campbell County, Georgia in 1818. [He had to have been in Spatanburg , SC before that- from birth records]
Then to Paulding County and then Murray County, Georgia
Minister of the Primitive Baptist Church

Tom:
I am related to Williamson b. ca. 1807 in S.C., brother of Calvin b. 1809 in S.C, both sons of John R. Rollins 1774-1849.
This information is from Lillie Rollins Crawford's book dated 1991. Her address is 264 Wesley Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. She come to family re-unions most every year in Jasper, Alabama. Maybe you would like to write her - she does not have a e-mail address. I also e-mail back and forth with Leonard Rollins of Dalton, GA who also knows a great deal about everyone but John R. Rollins. This is where we hit a dead end.

Good Luck with your search.

Hello Johnny,

I don't know if your message was intended for me or Tom, as your reply was addressed to Tom! So forgive me if I'm butting in, but a mesage was posted to my email address and I'm very new to this site.

I remember Williamson Rollins from when I was actively resarching my genealogy. As I mentioned in my message, I am a desendant of Calvin L. Rollins Sr., son of John Rollins?

Thanks,
Bill Rollins
