I also am a Dillard by birth. My grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indiana. I am not certain where she was born, but her name was Lula Newmoon and married William Edgar Dillard. If any of this information matches, please let me know. I am trying to find out my birth heritage and do a family tree as well but with being adopted and having limited information it is difficult.

Her name was Wille Mae, married Alvis K Sr. They were born around 1900, both are deceased. They had a

Hi, my greatgrandmother was Jenny Dillard. She was born July 30, 1876 in Harrison County, MO she moved to Oklahoma in 1894 and died around 1952 in Sapulpa, OK. I do not know who her parents are. I have heard that there is Indian in us, but did not know from whose side. She had maybe 10 or 11 siblings. She married Frank Smith had 4 children Eddie, Ethel, ?Daughter?, and Ruth Opal born 1913 (my grandmother). I was also told (years ago) that there was a Dillard family reunion. Possibly in Enid, OK (but not sure) If any of this sounds familar please e-mail me a bstk@brightok.net.

Researching my history also.

I don't know how much this will help, but I do know that I have Irish, Cherokee Indian, and German in me. I am not exactly sure if this is related to your search, but my Grandfather is Richard (Banney) Vancil, born in IL on February 7, 1921 and died in June of 1987. If you find that we are in some way related, please respond. I am not familiar with my Grandfather's history, was put into foster care, and would like to know more about my own family history. I am now an married mother, but just curious about my background. I am also trying to put together a family history tree for my daughter.

Thank you,

Amy Vancil

This may not be pertinent to your search but I thought I would throw it out FYI. My grandmother (born in 1882) had an older brother, George Dillard. He was probably born in Southern Illinois. She was born in Anna, IL, as far as I know. I don't know anything further about him. And that is odd since I have info on all the other siblings. Your message caught my eye because I also have Bean's somewhere in my ancestry.

If you could please write me at my e mail address I would appreciate it. Would love to give u more of the information I have and get more of what you have. Right now I have given up because I have such limited information and am only hitting brick walls. If I knew what I was looking for it might help. Where are you located? You never said.
Thank you for your time.

Don't know your e-mail address. Sorry.

My grandmother was Myrtle Lulu Dillard, born 4/22/1882. Her siblings were, as far as I know, George Dillard, DOB unknown, Rollie (sp) Dillard, born 1879, Cora, born 1884 and Delphia, born 1885. An aside to your information is that she may have been known as Lulu, a shortened version of her middle name. Her parents were James Buchanan Dillard, born in IL March 3, 1854 and Evelyn Narcissa (Nancy) Noel, born March 1, 1862 in Makanda, IL (Maybe in Jackson County.) James Dillard's father was Jones Josiah Dillard, I think, born in 1815 in TN, but he died in 1893 in Williamson County, IL. Jones' wife was Lydia Margaret Roberts, born either in TN or IL. I don't know of any Dillards currently in IL. I am currently searching horizontally for "cousins" in the hope that one of them might be able to get me back further. There are Dillards in MO but I don't think I am related to them. And then, of course, there are the Dillards of Arkansas, who own the department store chain. Keep in touch. CJ
