My grandfather Paschal Chenault Maddox was from Henry County KY, born Aug 13, 1887. He worked for L&N railroad, in his travels he met my grandmother, Ethel Harbin of Lowndes County AL, born abt 1895?. She had a sister Hattie in Fort Deposit AL and a cousin? Fred Harbin, which is about all I know about the Harbin Line. They married about 1908 and moved to Montgomery AL until about 1925 when they moved to Autauga Co AL where they remained. I don't know where the Chenault in my grandfather's name came from but I remeber my father saying at one time of some cousins Chenault in AL and KY but I have never been able to find a connection. I have ran across several Levi Maddoxes but haven't tied any Levi directly, I have found a Levi Maddox that was refered to as Uncle Levi that went to Texas/Kansas for awhile abt 1890's but left there and don't where he went. I think his wife's or sister's name was Lidia? My line is large and goes something like this:
1Wilson Maddox 1757 Ky
2David Maddox `1787
2Elijah Maddox 1791 KY
2Wilson Maddox JR 1793
2Thomas Gavin Maddox 1795
2Linny Maddox 1797
2Sarah Sally Maddox 1800
2Elizabeth Betsey 1802
2Martha Patsey Maddox 1802
2Miles Maddox 1807
2Mary Polly Maddox 1810
2Delilah Maddox 1813
2John S. C. Maddox 1789 (my ggggfather)

3Jesse B. Maddox 1823

3John B. Maddox 1827

3Nancey Jane Maddox 1829

3Sarah E. Maddox 1831

3William Mile Maddox 1834

3James Ford Maddox 1836

3 Laura V. Maddox 1840

3Paschal Mathis Maddox (my gggfather)

4William Samaul Maddox 1861

4David Phillip Maddox 1865

4Charles Morris Maddox 1868

4Hopkins Brite Maddox 1871

4Pachal Como Maddox 1874

4Harry Heathy Maddox 1877

4 John Harlan Maddox 1863 (my ggfather)

5Paschal Chenalt Maddox (my grandfather)

5Ethel Maddox

5Marcelia Maddox

5Annie Maddox
As you can see the line is large and the Maddoxes tended to have large families and your Levi may be in there. Most of my line came from VA/KY and went everywhere from there. This list is only a little of what I have gotten so far, don't know if I will ever get it all together, I am working with several others on connected lines. If any thing sounds familar, let me know, even if it don't, send what you got, I have several other Maddox researchers that I can send it to.
Thanks

There is misinformation on Ancestry World Tree that Levy is buried in Leesburg, Gonzales Co., TX.
There is a Levy MADDOX who died in Guadalupe Co in the Co. Probate records September 10 1897.

apparently, the pages stuck together when the enumerator was documenting households and then later went back and filled in the two pages (299b & 300a)

MY NOTE: [Tempie must be Emily/Emoline born May 1860 - if born in the month of May is correct, she was born only five months after the marriage of Levi and Mary... Tempie/Emoline may well have really been a DUNN...... more research on the death of JJ DUNN needed - did Tempie decide at 18 to probate her fathers Will with no papers??]

Maddox, Mary
Aug 19, 1823 - Mar 18, 1900 Section D
LOCKHART CITY CEMETERY [not listed on USGS/GNIS - because inside city limits???]
Located on the northeast side of Lockhart, (Caldwell County) Texas, near US 183.

Also buried there is B(enevidas) V. MADDOX which could be a daughter.
Birth: 12 Aug 1864 Death: 12 Sep 1869

My sources are simply the County documents on Rootsweb and the Census on Ancestry. Typos are always possible at any level.
