I am looking for possible parents of JACOB WALLACE born in Madison Co. in 1809. He came to Missouri when he was a young man before he was married. He married in Mo. to Catherine Rice in New Franklin Mo.
I have seen the Tax List for Madison County in this time period and I am trying to narrow it down to a possible parent. I would be intrested in corresponding with anyone researching Wallaces in Madison Co. in this time frame. I know it would help if I had the name of some of his siblings but I don't know that either.

I know these families have queries posted in the older sections, plus extensive Madison references in the archives of various Ky counties. The Madison Co Historical Society is P O Box 5066 Richmond KY 40476-5066, memberships & bks
Eastern Ky Univ has a great genealogical library. I did basic info on Wallace Rice Kennedy because they are collateral lines & they all left Va/Pa abt 1780 w/ GILL, Pawlings, etc. and intermarried. You need the earliest KY information or Va. since your families came prob. before KY was a state in 1792. Sorry this isn't much help, just basics.

I found the son Samuel Wallace born in Va on Jan 29,1771. The book I found it in is Cooper and Howard County History Book. Actually it is Samuel's son S.F. Wallace's biography. It reads: mr Wallace was the youngest of a family of 10 children - 5 sons and 5 daughters and S.F. Wallace was born in Howard Co. Aug 15, 1822. His father, Samuel Wallace, immigrated to this county in 1819, and was then 48 yrs of age, having been born in Virginia, Jan 29,1771. When a young man, he immigrated from Va to Ky, and was there, afterwards, on the 14th of June, 1798, married to Miss Anna Snoddy, who was born in North Carolina, Oct 19, 1778. Twenty-one years afterwards as stated above, they came to Howard County and here he died, in 1852, and Mrs Wallace about 10 years subsequent, March 4, 1862.On coming to this County Mr Wallace improved this farm on which his son S.F., now lives and hopes to improve. Mr S.F. was married Dec 22,1823 to Mis Galey James, Dau of Robert and Anna James, both of Ky., but early settlers to this county. Mr and Mrs Wallace have 3 children: John C., Hickman J., and Lizzie( now Mrs. Tindall). Mrs Wallace was born Dec 22, 1823, in Howard Co. Mr Wallace has an excellent farmof 246 acres. he has been , and is now one of the successful farmers of the county. He and his wife are both members of the Baptist church.

I am looking for S. F. Wallaces' brothers and sisters names. I am hoping that my Jacob Wallace born in Madison Ky may be brothers. Jacob married Catherine Rice in 1836 in Howard Co. but later, abt 1850 I found Jacob in Benton Co. Jacob's children are: David Wallace B.1837 Eliza B 1839 m. August Gerhardt Amanda Ellen B. 1841 m. Isaac Smith George W. b. 1843 James Christopher b 1845 m. Nancy Elizabeth Brown William Hencely b. 1847 m Cyntha Smith John Westley b. 1849
Alsada b. 1854 m Joseph Franklin Mary Sally b 1852. I hope this information helps someone even if I can't connect

Hi, saw your posting and felt the need to write you and see if you have a Mary Louise Miller (surname) in your tree, She was born in Berea, KY in 1922 and her mothers name was Ora. This family was in the Cincinnati, Ohio area in the late 1940s and have no clue where they went from there. Please e-mail me at Loveda3@aol.com I appreciate your time. :)

I too am a decendent of the Wallace's, my mother's maiden name is Wallace, they were from Reardon Ohio, I don't know if this is any realation to your Wallace's. I too live in Berea, Ky. My Wallaces stayed in the Reardon area and also lived in Peebles, Ohio, Cincinnati Ohio and Mt. Orab, Ohio. My Grandfathers name was Orville Wallace who married Ocha Hoffer. My grandfather had one brother George and one sister Josaphine, she married a man by the last name of Mustard. I wonder if there is any connection to the two families.
