My name is Stephen Lasak (34). I have been researching my family's genealogy over
the Internet and I came across your name. I am looking for information
about my grandfather Ondrej Jozef (Andrew) Lasak. Below is a list of
information that I do have on my grandfather.
Birth date: (recordings of three different birth dates)
Birth Certificate: Nov. 28, 1890
Declaration of Intention: Nov. 30, 1893
Death Certificate: Nov. 30, 1894
Born: Klin, Czechoslovakia (near Namestovo)
Parents: Stanislava Lassak and Katheriny Lassak (Stopkova)
Sister: Mary Lasak Married Joseph Sojka. Lived in North Riverside, ILL. (USA)
Brothers: In my grandfathers obituary column in the Coatesville Record
Newspaper(Pennsylvania, USA) states that he had three brothers living
in Klin, Czechoslovakia: Matthew, Joseph, and Anthony. I do not have any
information on them.
Wife: Johanna (Jennie) Karc on Feb. 16, 1919
Andrew immigrated to this country from Klin, Czechoslovakia at the age of
18. He boarded the ship Kaiser Wilhelm on May 30, 1910 from Bremen,
Germany. The ship arrived in New York on or about June 10, 1910. His alien
number was 3-129036. He took a train from New York to Coatesville,
Pennsylvania USA (I have the original travel contract that Andrew made
that gave me this information). Why he came to Coatesville Pa. is unknown. He
must have had friends of the family who immigrated to this area.
Any information you could provide on any Lasak/Lassak genealogy would be
greatly appreciated. You may contact me at my e-mail at
