In Coffee Co. AL at the Shady Grove Prim. Bapt. Church Cem. there is a head stone that reads, Elizabeth Bowdoin, wife of John C. Bowdoin, Dec 21, 1908. This is next to the headstone of Lelar Gatlin. Does anyone know how the Gatlins and Bowdoins were related? Any information on The Bowdoins listed would be helpful.

I would love to correspond with you about the Bowdoin family. My mother's line includes Bowdoins who settled in Georgia, USA. They are believed to have descended from John and Elizabeth Folsom Bowdoin. Much circumstantial evidence exists that this is the correct southern line of the Bowdoin (Bowden) family but would like your input. Thanks!
