Vickie, we have two Ida Belles and it's likely they are connected. My grandmother was born in Hancock County, Indiana in 1887. She married and divorced Arvol Nicholson in 1906 and married John Welter in 1907. She spent all of her life in Indiana as did her siblings and parents. Her parents were Jacob and Celia (Sela Reece) and both were born in Indiana. My great great grandfather, George Kingery was born in 1825, also in Indiana.

I believe the Kingery family came to Indiana as they moved west from Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania. They were part of a group of German Baptists that moved west to start new churches. So it seeems likely that some of the family moved on into Illinois. I have not done any research in Illinois but I do have a lot of blanks fields for family members beyond Jacob and Celia's children.

If you can connect to any of this, let me know (erobin6886@aol.com) and I will send you a gedcom or a paper file-your choice. Nancy

Carol, I do not have a Henry Kingery in my files and tmt Bessie Kingery has different parents. What state are your Kingery kin from and what time frame are they in?

Many Kingerys came West to start Brethren churches. My 7th and 6th great grandfathers were born in Germany. The next three (5th & 4th & 3rd) were born in Virginia. The family moved to Liberty, Union County, Indiana before 1823 with a group of families to start a Brethren church. The librarian in Liberty has put quite a lot of information about that group online.

My Grandmother Ida Belle Kingery was born in 1887 in Hancock County, Indiana.

Other Kingery families left Indiana and moved farther West with the purpose of starting churches.

If any of this seems to connect, email me at erobin6886@aol. Please use Kingery in the subject line. We get a lot of SPAM.

I have a marriage bond from 1797 in Bourbon County, KY between Stephen Ruddell and Katherine Kingrey. Stephen had been captured in 1780 and had lived for 15 years in an Shawnee Indian tribe and was freed by General Anthony Wayne as part of the Treaty of Greenville in 1795. He returned to his parents in Bourbon County, KY. They had 5 children. When she died and how old she was I do not know. There was a Kingrey reunion in Harrisonburg, Virginia several years a go and a lady from Florida stopped a museum in Shenandoah County, Virginia. I was not able to connect with her. There were Kingreys in Virgina about 1770

My maternal grandfather is Lionel (Bruce) Kingery, married to Mary DeShon, both from Kokomo, IN. I believe he still has some younger siblings and other family in the Kokomo area.
