Can anyone tell me if the Steele District of the 1880 Wood Co. WV census was located along the Wirt County line?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, it was along the Wirt Co. lines. I have the republished Atlas ( done in 1999) of all of those districts from 1876. Wirt Co. would have been on Steele's District Eastern Edge. If I could be of further help. Let me know.

Where did you purchase your republished atlas? Would you know where I might purchase a copy and what is the title of your Atlas? I recently purchased some property out off of Rt 21 on Limestone Ridge. It had been in my wife's family a long time back (early to mid 1800's, I believe) and would love to get a map of the area from back then. Thank you Bubby Rowe

I purchased the Atlas named. 'An Atlas of Wood County, West Virginia 1799-1999 at the Wood Co. Court House. It was Edited and compiled by Robert D. Crooks, MD and Ray Swick, PH. D. and published by the Wood County bicentennial Commission. The Court House had framed maps from this book and I inquired about it at the Court House. I don't know what Dept. or office I went to but it was on the Main floor.
