results hint update?

The coolest thing about the DNA results is when you and one of your DNA matches have shared research and you get the shaky leaf next to their name.

Is it possible to get the same leaf if they were previously a match by DNA but the link was not readily apparent and later the link became more defined?

Does ancestry re-evaluate matches in such a manner? and if not, would it be possible to implement such?

Also, Does anyone have an idea if at some point there are plans to integrate DNA results with FTM?

How or when Ancestry updates the shaky leaf hints for shared ancestors is something we've been trying to figure out since they came out. It's obvious that there are some bugs in their system. I've seen matches that had shaky leafs drop off for no apparent reason and I have numerous matches that should show the leaf that don't.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you but the man behind the curtain hasn't been very forthcoming with information on this (or anything else regarding DNA).

No help with the shaky leaves. I just "star" my matches, keep text files for my various matched relatives and honestly don't pay much attention to the leaves.

I am not familiar with FTM, but Legacy Family Tree 7.5 includes an option for adding DNA records.

why on earth did my post get moved to another topic when I clearly put it in that category because I am talk about Ancestry.com DNA Results and not general research?

Not like mods respond to these things or anything but I would really like to know the reasoning behind this.

Scot, Ancestry.com/DNA is only for reporting and discussing _technical problems_ with Ancestry DNA testing. That board is not for discussion about DNA results.

It would be a big help if you could provide a list of DNA boards and what each is for. That might avoid a lot of confusion.

Agreed but thanks for the clarification. So where does one report issues or pose queries with ACOM's DNA results and NOT general research?

RE your original question: "Is it possible to get the same leaf if they were previously a match by DNA but the link was not readily apparent and later the link became more defined?" Yes. Mine are updated often, but I'm not sure what triggers the update. Sometimes my "good" (i.e., accurate hint) leaves drop off and I have no idea why.
Some older threads that address leaf hints might be helpful to you:

Then that information needs to be easily available to posters.
