My ancesters came to America in the 1800's and their name was Scullin. They originated from Portglenone, Antrim Co. In tracing their lines back I have come across the names of Mulholland, Henery, McCrystal, Comyns, Connolly, Somerville , Ivers, Convery, O'Neill and Hoase as spouses of the forementioned Scullins. If anyone has a connection to a Scullin through any of these surnames please let me know as I am missing many parts of this puzzle:)

GREETINGS BERT:

I'm fairly new at this so I don't know exactly what you need. I have photocopies of Griffith's Valuation for Portglone (1862) that I made in tracing my Blaneys in Portglenone, Lisnahunchin (Craigs) and Lisnagarron, in the general area of Ahoghill, Ballymena, Co. Antrim.

I have a Henry Blaney married to a Margaret Henry and a Thomas Blaney married to Rose Henry. I think two Blaney Brothers may have married two Henry sisters. I met both of their grandchildren in Ireland this past April, both gents are 81 years old. I would guess that the time of marrage was between 1860 & 70. I'll be getting more info in August when I return for another visit and research. Both gents live in the Lisnagarron area.

I have also have a Blaney relative, locally in Boston, that has a relative Scullions on her side of the Clan. I'll find out more Sunday.

Griffiths does not have your spelling of Henrey, it lists Henry, in the area and Scullin I find as Scullion. Would this be a variation on the spelling due to immigration?

Though I did not copy the entire Civil Parish of Portglenone with every townland, I have about 30 pages. If you do not have this info., I would be glad to provide it.

Let me know.

Rick

My mother's mother was a Scullin-McCathy. Being raised in Linden, Michigan she married Anthony Trollman. Her father was John Scullin and do not have the first name for her mother. Some were there was a Scullin who married a Barron. Do you have any information on the Scullins from Michigan?

Thank you,

Lynn

For sure, the names and local are correct. I can't pinpoint one of them yet however, my new found relatives, Patrick Blaney in Ahoghill, grandmother's name is Elizabeth Mullholand. She married Henry Blaney.

Please keep in touch.

Its a bit of a long shot but I have family links with Mulholland's, Hardie's and Marne's (Marron) in Ahoghill and later with the Blaney's in Scotland.

My Grandmother, Annie Blaney(1889-1956) married Patrick Mulholland(1890-1945) in 1913 in Glasgow. Annie's Father (Hugh Blaney born 1862?) married Bridget Rice (b1863?) in 1885 in Shettleston (nr Glasgow). I think Hugh was born in Ireland and his father was called John.

If any of this is relevant let me know.

Also, if anyone is interested in the Mulholland's, Hardie's and Marron links with Ahoghill and Glasgow please let me know as well (I have some info but I need all the help I can get!)

Whether this has relevance or not... My gmother was Annie Mulholland Henry from northern Ireland. Her mother was Mary and father Henry patrick mulholland. She had a sister, Elizabeth, and two brothers that I know of, Harry and Thomas. Possibly related?
Thanks for any and all info.

Hi. I am a decendant of the Irish "Henery" family and was hoping to learn more. I'm presently "stuck" at Simeon Henery of Ireland. Other names I know I'm related to are Thomas Henery (Ireland), John Henery (Ireland) & John Henery/Henry (Ireland & Canada).
My Grandpa was James Austin Henry, son of James & Ella/Ellen or Nancy...still trying to verify!
Please respond to me at GreenEyezSmiling@aol.com.
Thanks!!!

My maternal grandmother, Mary Scullin married John O'Neill in Philadelphia Pa on May 1, 1900 she was around the age of 23. I only know that she came from Co. Antrim as a child and her father was a violinist. Any connection? Patricia Sweeney
