anybody have information on the McDaniel/McDonald/McDonnells that stayed in Dela & Md? My McDaniels haunt the Glasgow, Dela and Elkton, Md areas and supposedly have been there "since dirt". I am stuck on William McDaniel born MD/Dela abt 1805 married a Mary born in Del abt 1814. His children included Sarah, William, George, Hiram and Jefferson. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

I live in Elkton, MD and believe we may share some ancestors. I was born in Iowa and have traced my family back to Beaver County, PA and have just found some in Delaware. Would love to share info to confirm or delete facts.

I am descended from Archibald & Rachel McDanel ( possibly McDannell)born around 1750 New Castle, DE area. Though I show that he died in Ohio around 1812, I have other info suggesting he stayed in Delaware when his sons William ( my gggg+), Joseph, Eli, Smith and John moved to Beaver County, Pa. Some moved on and prospered in the Richland county, Mansfield, area in central Ohio, and another branch 1/2 relatives(through 1st wife of Abraham,1801-1853) helped to populate Appanoose county in Iowa. There are a lot of us around!! I would love more info on original Delaware relatives

greetings! I now live in Ohio, but grew up in Newark, Dela. My grandfather was Charles McDaniel, born in Elk Mills, MD. His father was Jefferson McDaniel, son of Billy & Mary. Grandpop was the last of a slew of children and his father died before he was born so we never knew anything else about the McDaniel family except 1)we're Scot-Irish, 2)we've "been here since dirt" acc'd to Grandpop and 3)if I found any McDaniels in New Castle (I think he meant the county), we were related to them. Outside of Grandpop's family, I am in the dark. I have noted with interest the references to the Beaver Co. McDaniels--but I can't make a connection. My info comes from an old family Bible kept by Jefferson's wife Elizabeth (nee Barber). I would be happy to help you in any way if I can.
