My greatgrandfather's, the father of Lela Ernestine Clifton Ayers, name was Jimma (correct spelling) Clifton. He died before my Aunt Nellie Grace Ayers has memory of him, so we have no specifics other than that.

My grandmother, Lela Clifton Ayers often talked of her two brothers Carl and Hubert. According to Lela, they died both in the early evening sitting on her front porch; Hubert one Thursday and Carl the next Thursday. Both had related to her that they wanted to talk with her later after everyone had gone to bed; as if to say they wanted to tell her something private. Both died from heart attack.

This is the story she related to me personally.

Since my grandmother's parents and all her siblings were dead in their 40s, she she lived close to 50 years without any close relatives. Therefore, she tried to keep in touch with her nieces and nephews.
