AAAAAYYYY!
I am an Indian Choate! Not too many of us. My gggrandfather was Albert Choate and he married Lily Wright a full blood Chickasaw. Our Albert Choate was full blood Choctaw. The Chickasaw Library at their headquarters in Ada Oklahoma have Albert listed and they also have his parents listed. Maybe you can find something out there. They do phone work. The Library is closed on Mondays or I would know the names of his parents. I was there on a Monday. I now live in Washington State, my house is up for sale, going back to Oklahoma.
Chahta sia!
Valerie

I don't know anything about his siblings, but Samuel Alex Choate was my great grandfather and lived in Tn. He was married to Cassie Silcox. They had several children. Walter, Ike, Mike, John, Daisy, Marie, Christy. Was it your great grandfather or Sam that had 3 children? If any of these sound familiar, please e-mail me at nana3anmor@aol.com. I have a second cousin once removed that hopes to find some info too. I hope there is a conection.

Rebecca, What time frame is your Mitilda from? Could she have had a brother named John? As my ggrandfathers name was Samuel and he had sons with names John(Also his fathers name) and Ike. He also had Walter, Mike, Will and girls Marie, Rhoda (nickname Daisy) and Christy or Cristy(nicknamed Teen). My Samuel was born in 1865. His parents John and Martha Martin were married in 1865 as well, I think.
My email is nana3anmor@aol.com. Thanks, Pamn

Kim, I saw your reply to someone else, but wondered if your grandmother would know Aunt Tildys last name. As the Matilda/Tilda in my family was married to a Redman/Redmond. My greatgrandfather, Samuel, had a sister named Matilda. I do not know who was older, but he was born Dec 1865. Would love to hear from you. Thanks, Pamn

Rebecca,
I am interested in talking to you. My ggrandfather was Samuel Choate m. Catharine( nickname Cassie) Silcox, he had a sister named Matilda. He was b. Dec 1865. He also had children he named, Ike, John, Mike, Walter, Will, Rhoda, Marie and Christy. Samuels parents were, John and Martha (Martin) Choate. Rhoda and Christy had nicknames Daisy and Teen. Your names sound awfully close, maybe your Maltida is the sister I have been looking for. Do you know her parents names, when was she born and do you have any of her other siblings. I have them somewhere, I will look for them, if you are interested. Oh, by the way, you have Matilda married to a Redfern and I had heard that ours was married to a Redmond, close, maybe someone got the name wrong. Please email me at nana3anmor@aol.com. Thanks, Pamn
