I would like to hear from anyone who had Davern ancestors who were born or lived in Co. Limerick.
My great grandmother was Margaret Davern. She was born in 1868 in Ballylanders, Co. Limerick. Her parents were Michael Davern and Mary Noonan Davern. She married James Hannon in about 1892 and had three sons, Michael (my grandfather) , Edward or Edmond, and Richard. My great grandparents stayed in ireland, but their three sons came to America and got married and raised families
I would like to hear what ever you can tell me about you Davern ancestor.
Thanks,
Suzanne

Hey/ Diá Duít.
I may be related to the Davern family you are tracing?
We now live in various parts of Co. Cork, however we originate from county Limerick, I think the town is called Kilfinane, witch is near to Ballylanders, We moved from Limerick in the early part of my fathers life time, in the late '60s. Maybe this can be some help to you :)

Hi Gerry,
Great to hear from you.
Yes it is very possible that you are one of the Daverns that I'm looing for. Do you happen to know your grandfather's first name & maybe what year he was born ?
I have traced my Daverns back to 1838. My great great grandfather was Michael Davern who was born somewhere in Co. Limerick in 1838 & died in 1910 in Ballylanders. In 1862 Michael married Mary Noonan, who was also born in Co. Limerick. They were married in a Roman Catholic Church in Ballylanders. They had 9 children, Michael, Timothy, Mary, Margaret, John,Nora, Helena, Patrick,& Richard. Out of the 9 children only John, Patrick, Margaret ( my great grandmother ) & Michael stayed living in Ireland. The rest of them as far as I know, came to the USA. I have alot more information,if you are interested in knowing more, just let me know.
Suzanne
I live in the US.

My Davern is from Doon, Co. Limerick. John & Ally (FITZGERALD) DAVERN had Hanora (1853), Mary (1855), Jeremiah (1857), Ellen (1859) & Margaret (1862). I'm not sure if John died in Ireland or traveled to the USA with the rest of the family abt 1873. John may have had a brother James. Does this match any of your info?

I can only guess John was born about 1838. I just started looking info the Davern line in Ireland. I'm not even sure if John had any siblings! I'll let you know if I find anything more about the line.

Gail,
Thanks for your message. I love all the information about our Daverns that I can get. I have a family tree here on Ancestry, Sherman family tree. Yes I have seen Eric's web site, which gave me a starting point for the Daverns. There are quite alot of us. When you check my family tree, you will see where I fit in.
Do you happen to have any photos of Davern relatives ? I have gotten many from other Davern cousins, would you like a copy of any ?
Keep in touch,
Suzanne
