Curiosity has gotten the best of me. I'm hooked. Once in awhile i plug in the name Lineberry to see what's what. Was happy to find the free sites with the info. Like to begin with a big Thankyou to all who have put time into this.

My husband's 4th great grandparents were Jacob Lineberry III and Mary Catherine Youngblood. Third great- Jacob
Lineberry lV and Mary Fanning. Second great- Jeremiah and Beda E. Smith (Beda was a 2nd marriage I believe. They had four children. Jeremiah's first marriage was to Catherine Delp. Two children, Mary: b. 1847? and John C.: b. 1848? ) His great grandparents were Jeremiah Adam Lineberry b.1853 and Sarah Frances Ayers. They had five children... In 1878? my husbands grandfather was born. His name was Wilburn T. Lineberry. I have found some information on Wilburn and his marriagesthat may be incorrect. Wilburn's first marriage was to Nora Alderman ( b. 1883? / I believe she died in 1934 of gall bladder complications) All of Wilburn's children were with Nora Alderman. My father-in-law, John C. Lineberry, was born in 1922. John C. is the youngest of the children. There is also a Kemper O. and a Rennie C. ( other brothers and sisters as well, I do not know all of the children's names but I will post when I find out) My husband's family comes from Galax, Va. ; Woodlawn Va.; MO. There are cousins with the name of Burnette in Woodlawn and Edwards from Galax. My husbands Uncle Rennie was from Missouri. If you have any thing to add, please reply. SORRY THIS WAS SO LONG...

Dear Angela,

You are like a breath of fresh air with your excitement on the family tree info you listed!!! I am also following the Lineberry family. I am descended from Jacob and Mary Catherine too. My ggrandma Alverta Frost was the daughter of Louvinia Lineberry. Louvinia was the daughter of Francis Lineberry and Elizabeth Wilkerson. Francis was the son of Jacob IV and Mary Elizabeth Fanning, then of course Jacob IV was the son of Jacob III and Mary Catherine. This makes your husband and my dad third cousins. My dad also is from Galax so maybe they know each other. I would love to compare further notes with you to add to my tree and hopefully yours :)

Your cousin-in-law, Deborah Whittington

Hello,

I'm trying to find info on my mothers'father Andrew Lineberry (I believe). He was married to my grandmother, Ima Warf sometime around 1918-1919 or thereabouts. They had four children, Haywood, Dorothy, Eloye, and Evane. He died sometime around 1928-1929. Ima remarried someone whose last name was Manuel. My mother Eloye was born 1926 in Thorpe, W.VA (McDowell County) but spent most of her early life in Galax, VA.(Carroll County) Might you have any info on Andrew Lineberry and his side of the family. I don't have much info to go on, but if you can help, I'd really be grateful. I need to know where I come from. Email me at Littlewing2313@aol.com Thanks, JoAnn

I am related to this line of Lineberrys. My grandmother was Bessie Lineberry, her father Thomas, his father was Alex. Bessie was my fathers mother and they lived in Woodlawn VA. I am going up to the area in June. We plan on going to the cemetery were the Jennings side of the family is buried along with a few the Lineberry family.

I wish I had more details for you, here's what I know. My maternal grandfather was George Jetro Lineberry from Galax, VA, he married Ella Marie Walls, from Ingleside, WV. They had 3 children, Margie Lineberry, Georgia Etta Lineberry and Gene Lineberry. The family grew up in Welch, WV. I know that we are distantly related to the Ayers and Fannings. I wish I had paid more attention when I was younger. I am Georgia's daughter. George and Ella moved to Princeton WV in the early 1950's. George Lineberry was a lineman for Appalachian Power Co. in Welch. I know that he had many siblings, but I cannot remember the names.

The Lineberry's came from Germany sometime during the 1700's. Their name in Germany was Leyenberger. I hope that helps!
If you want more info to fill in gaps just reply to this thread. I would love to know more info on this line and living cousins as well. Does anyone have any info on Mary C Youngblood Lineberry?

Thanks,
Alexanna
