I would like to find the parents of Mary Jane Manly/Manley.
Mary Jane was born in Ohio. Married Thomas J Worley in IA.
She died 16 May 1898 Napa CA. She had a brother named Riley Manly.

I don't know anything about Mary Jane's parents, but was wondering about her brother, Riley. Do you know if he moved to Wisconsin to homestead - probably around 1852 or so? If this is the same family, a g-g-grand uncle of mine, Benjamin Scott, was living with Riley in Wisconsin in 1860. Scott was also from Ohio and married Laura Holly, who is actually the one in my blood line.

I keep running across connections between the Holly and Manly/Manley families--do you know where this might come from? The only direct connection I know of is through a Polly Manley who married Jonah Filley--their daughter, Laura Filley, married Walter Holly. My Holly family comes from northeastern Ohio and before that, Connecticut.

I have been working backwards from CA for the Manley family.
I had a reference to Riley in an old history of the Pit River area in early 1900 before the families were moved when they created Lake Briton.

I also had an early census that listed a Riley Manley in a boarding house in Ohio.

I have a possible family for their parents. Lebbens Manley b Sep 1809 MA and Polly Mary Johnston

I haven't verified yet with census records etc. But Lebbens' line goes back to England. I found the pedigree at World Connect

I fear you're no longer with ancestry, but just in case you are.....Your Lebbeus Manley goes back through his mother, Azuba Hurd's line to Stephen Hopkins and Thomas Rogers who arrived in this country on the Mayflower.
