I'm a Sickles researcher, from New Jersey. I've been told by a reliable source that my Sickles family was originally Van Sicklen. However, to date, I cannot document that fact. I'm presently searching for the parents of my 5th great grandfather, James Sickles b.1759 d.1836, who married Anne Tilton. His parents just might be Van Sicklens. All variations of the spelling are scattered throughout the USA. In my attempt to find the truth about the name changes, all I acquired so far, is frustration!

I am a decendant of the VAN SICLEN family, New York, Michigan. Would like to exchange info. Also seeking information on William B. VAN SICKLEN, husband of Amarilla Doty. Seeking place of death and year. Also any other relevant information on him.
