Solomon Seymore (Seymour, Seamore, & Seamom) father was Thomas Seymour. Thomas had 3 sons (the oldest died around 1777, Solomon and a younger son) Thomas also had one daughter, Mourning Seymour who married Philip Geane.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi Ken,
Yes we have found out a lot of information since I posted that. Do you have Solomon's Rev War file, the non selected records? Seems Thomas had several more children but they aren't named, I do have a William and Thomas.

Do you know where Thomas came from? I thought he might be of the family from VA.

Mourning is my ggggg-grandmother.

Hello, I have a James Seamore born ca 1794. 1850-1880 census records list his birthplace as NC, VA, or TN. I believe he had a brother named Newton Seamore as there was a Seamore by that name born in NC about the age of James. Our family has a legend that a son of James was an adopted indian child. He married Elizabeth Unknown and had several children in Sullivan Co. TN and moved 1840's to Scott Co. VA. His death was reported by brother Newton. Anyone know anything of this family. Thanks, Clara

I am trying to get information about Lindsey E. Seymour who was born in Chatham Co. North Carolina in 1835. He married a woman named Catherine who was born in Tenn. in 1837. They moved to Arkansas some time after 1848. I think he might be related to Soloman Seymour and Martha Petty but can't verify that.
Does anyone how any information about this?

Thank you,
Suzanne

We have Lindsey as the son of John Seymore, probably of Chatham County. We've never found anything that positively proves John's relationship. He couldn't be the son of Solomon, but he could be the son of James, who was son of Solomon.
