Searching for info on John Riley Henry - may have been the Sheriff in Wright CO., MO around 1897. Any info would be helpful. His son was Ira Everett Henry - wife was Elizabeth A. Ussery.
Thank you,
Norma

We see you have John Riley Henry maried to Elizabeth Ussery. We have James Henry Married to Mary Ussery who was born in MO approximately 1855-1860, Her first child , William Henry, was born May 1880. Second was Mary Henry, then Christian, Alonzo, Daniel, and Walter. The information we have is that our Henry's went to Wright Co MO. from Wayne Co. TN.

Thank you for your reply. It is my understanding that Elizabeth and Mary Ussery both married Henry's. However, according to my father-in-law, T. R. Henry of K.C. KS, there was no relationship between the two men. It was just a coincidence.

The father of our John Riley Henry was William D. Henry and may have been changed from Whenry to Henry. Our John Riley Henry was said to have been the sheriff or a deputy in either Wright County or Howard County in 1896 or 1897 when he was killed in the line of duty. We have not been able to find any records to that effect, nor can we find a marriage record, death record, etc. of John Riley Henry.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, Norma J. Henry
