I found it the book I was refering to is "The Slave Trade" by Hugh Thomas. I don't know if there is a connection but the leading slave trader at Elmina between 1800 and 1817 was the Niezer family. Elmina shows up as the place of origin of many Cruzan slaves in the old censuses.

I would like to communicate with KIM about her Great Grand dad who came to St.Croix as aslave trader. I tried to e-mail her but her account is in active.

my grand mother was born on St.Croix in 1895 her name was
Sara alberta Neazer. her father was Alfred Emanuel Neazer and he was born in 1870. he also had a brother name Alphonser Neazer who was born in 1874.

my Great Great Gand father was Stephen Neazer and he was born in 1847. The 1880 census for Christainsted showed Stephen Neazer a Roman Catholic. I hope Kim Jensen can e-mail so we can exchange information. Does anyone know how to ge intouch with her ?
