I am new to this and have very little on my ancesters. My grandfather (William Robert Argabright) was born in Montgomery County in the late 1800's (around 1880) to John Henry Argabright (b. uncertain) and unknown grandmother.

I did a little more digging and talked to my 1st cousins in Kansas City, Mo. Their last name is Varner. I'll pass on what I know.

They were not sure but My Aunt (Erma Argabright (Varner)) passed this on. She passed away in 1998.

She thought my Great Great Grandfather was named David (not sure) but was known to fought in the Civil War, might have died in the war. My Great Grandfather was John Henry Argabright B. May 11 1854 in Franklin County Va. D. in 1937. He married Sarah Anne(Kennedy) Argabright B. Aug 16 1855 d. May 10 1904 in Cobool, Mo. It was thought Sarah was my Great Step Grandmother. John Henry could have possibly been married before and Sarah was his second wife.
My Grandfather was William Robert Argabright B. Nov 5 1879 in Montgomery County Va. D. June 4 1951. around Fairfield Mo.
My Grandmother was Virginia Roberta (Morrell) Argabright b. June 25th 1881 in Johanisberg (sp) Tenn. D. July 15 1971 near Fairfield Mo. Her sister was Laura Morrell.

Other facts she shared were:

There were names she knew but didn't know were they fit in.
John Argabright and Mary Miller 1800's in New Ellston (sp) VA

Asher Argabright
Christian Argabright mother Amy Shelby?

Sarah Kennedy's parents were
James Issac Kennedy and Mary Ann Robbins

Hope this helps anyone, if it rings a bell e-mail me at dajavo@earthlink.net

Many of the Argabrights in Montgomery Co, Va descend from John Argabright, son of Martin and grandson of Hans George. John was married twice and had two sons and a daughter from the first marriage (William and Joseph). I descend from Joseph. After Joseph died his family moved to Clark Co, Ohio. William was born about 1790 and stayed in Montgomery Co, His step brother George probably stayed in the nearby vicinity and his stepbrother John may have gone to Breckenridge Co, Ky with John Sr.

Do you know if the John you talk about was married to an Ann Smith in 1793? George Washington Sr. Argabright was deeded land from a John Argabright in 1832 who was married to a Ann Smith?

William, please email me <gneolog@aol.com>. Ann Smith was the second wife of John Argabright. John (late of Rockingham Co) bought land in Montgomery Co in 1802 and he and ANN sold it in 1825. My records show that John died in 1831 in Ky so I would be interested in what is included in the deed that you have. Marilyn

Hello,

I am the great gran daughter of Noah Argabright B:1902 D:About 1965. How did you come by your information about his family? I have tried to do some research, but really did not know where to start. I knew Noah lived in Roanoke, Va. I think that is where he met my g granmother Dorathy A Akers B:1905 D:1988. I connected with another person who had similar information, but did not know much more. Thanks for your time.

Mary

My great grandfather's name was Noah Argabright. Not really sure if it is the same person you had posted about. My Noah was married to Dorathy Akers. He abandoned Dorathy around 1939. I was told he was a Coal Miner. I found a census record that said he was a truck driver. Do you think this is the same Noah, son of your Albert T Argabright. Thanks for your time.
