I think Granpa's parent's name were, Allen and Arvella Arnwine as I understand it and my great-great-great grandfather's name was Albartis Arnwine. If anyone can help please contact me.Grandpa Guy had two sisters that I know of Marjorie Gilleland and Mabel Small
Thanx

I believe these are the same people. That is if Albartis' descendants are of African-American descent as well. Although I am essentially caucasian I know that I have distant cousins in Texas from Albartis line from pre Civil War days when he had slaves. Let me know if this is the same Albartis. I really appreciate it.
Thanx

Yes, that's the same Albartis. I had been talking to several other women that are black and they said Albartis had several children with his slave Gracie.

I was reading your message board and you said that Albartis Arnwine was your Gr Gr Gr grandfather. Which one of his children are you related to What I would like to know if possible, do you have the name of Allen Arnwines parents? I think I've got a connection to your family if Albartis is your Gr Gr Gr grandfather.

Thank You

Anita,
Thanx for replying. My father was Allen Richard Arnwine but he was named for his grandfather, also Allen Arnwine. My father's parents were Guy Arnwine and Rene Ruth Arnwine nee Miller. My dad's grandmother was Arvella as am I. Beyond this I don't know a whole lot. I had it on file and its come up missing so I'm going to have to get to my brother's to get a back up and then I will know more. Hope this is helpful.
Let me know

I was searching for information on Epenitus Guy Armstrong when I came across your post concerning Arnwines in Texas. My grandfather was Charles Rane Armstrong,Jr., Epenitus Guy was his grandfather. I have been searching for ancestors prior to Epenitus Guy but can find nothing beyond Rocky Mount , NC. Can you provide any information about Epenitus Guy's parents? I'm trying to trace my roots back to Scotland but can get no further than Rocky Mount, NC.
