Seeking the family history of Casper Serra born circa 1890 in the Palermo area. He was a deep sea fisherman who emigrated to the United States circa 1911. He lived in Brooklyn.

I was checking a Brooklyn website for (only) Kings Co. (Brooklyn) Naturalization Petitions for 1907-1924 period. Was checking Serra surname for friend, found 9 matches.

One was for a Gasper Serra for year 1917, Petition Vol. 329, Petition Page 187 (Dec. Vol. 146, Dec. Page 155).

Nat. Petitions from that time period usually have picture, name of town came from, ship information, parents' names, family members, etc.
You can write for record:
County Clerk's Office
State Supreme Court, Kings County
360 Adams St.
Room 0079
Brooklyn, NY 11201
$10 fee, 4 - 6 month wait.
Just FYI, only others listed for that time period for Brooklyn were:
Alessandro Serra- 1917
Antonio Baeta Serra- 1921
Gaetano Serra- 1923
(Gasper)
Marco Serra- 1911
Michela Serra- 1920
Michele Serra- 1910
Pietro Serra- 1917
Vincenzo Serra - 1917

Possibly all the 1917s could have come over together?

No ages or year of immigration provided on this site by Jewish Genealogical Society, Inc.

I don't have any further info on the Serra family. Best of luck in your search.
