Lyons/Mahoney Location info needed

I need info on a Thomas J Lyons (b. 1863) married Mary Mahoney in approx. 1884. One daughter, Brdiget Lyons, before they emigrated to US in 1894. Ellis Island record indicates "Lasha" as the place of residence, but I am having trouble pinpointing any place by that name, so I think it might be a Gaelic name? I saw census info placed the Lyons surname in cty. Galway in the 1890s, so I am hoping someone here might have some info on what "Lasha" might refer to. Thank you!!

I have a Lyons line that is from Co. Galway. Do you know your Thomas' parents names? His birth year is right for him to be a brother or cousin to my grgrgrandmother Catherine Lyons--whose father's name was Thomas. Contact me if there is a possibility we can assist each other.

Hello Marie! It may or may not be the same family. I believe my Thomas Lyons' mother's name was Bridget (possibly O'Connor),and his father was John. Unfortunately I have no info on siblings for Thomas, I only just in the last couple of days discovered his parent's names. Are they possibly the same group of Lyons' as yours?

Anything is possible. Unfortunately I don't have a great deal of information on my Lyons line.

I have a lodger Edward Lyons staying with my GG Grandparents in 1881. George Welby married Catherine Corless in Loughrea in 1874 and then 7 years later are seen in Bradford lining with their three young children and Edward Lyons age 34 born 1847.
Not sure if this is relevant?
:-)

Hi Lianne,

I am not sure either, possibly he is a brother or cousin, I will need to look into this. Thank you so much for the lead!
