James Hinchion, my great, great grandfather came from Co. Cork around 1849. His daughter, Ann married Dan Sullivan in 1856 in Watertown. James, with his sons went out to Wauchon, Iowa and produced a number of Hinchion families out there. I have a more detailed family history of the descendants of this James Hinchion. Paul Sullivan

I am looking for any infomation about a Michael hinchion and wife [?] who came over to Aust. sometime in the 1870's. He settled in Woods Point Victoria. Had three girls [one my grandmother] and at the time of wife's death left them with a family in Mansfield Vic. I am at a dead end trying to track him down and would appreciate any info anyone might have about a relative who went to Aust. instead of America.

Hi. Just joined up with Ancestry and found your post regarding John Hinshion of Woods Point, from Ireland. Too quirky not to be the same man. One of the children left behind after his wifes death is my grandmother. Love to make contact

Do you have a copy of the book Wood's Point Cemetery by J.G. Rogers. There is a paragraph on Rose Anna Hinshion's death. I can send you a scan of the page if you send me your email.

I don't have the book. Would appreciate any information and a scan of the page. All I know is that Rose Ann died and after, John put the children in the care of a neighbour and left. One of the children (Margaret/Madeline) is my grandmother.
