Are the names Jamar the same family as Jamart?

Hello,

I believe there to be a connection between the two. I've found the name Jamart to be of French origin and, is or was probably pronounced w/o the "t".

I have discovered much about the Jamart family and will share it with whomever is interested.

Jamar and Jamart are the same Family. I am the Granddaughter of Henry Thomas Jamar. Henri Jamart came to Fairfax Co. Virginia, and served in the Pennsylvania Militia in the Revolutionary War. The T, was later dropped. He was from Liege France, which was originally Liege Belgium. All the Jamar's in the United States originated from Henri Jamart. We have no Slave names, but all Jamar's, curently in the United States, are kin by blood or slavery!

I have a lot of the slave names. I was the descendant of John and Ada Jamar slaves of Richard and Thomas, henri's son and grandson.

Oh My! Of course, all of us would love to have the names of the slaves. My computer has been down, and I have not followed the conversation's lately, but welcome! Thank you. I will try to catch up!
