Hi Joan
I also go back to Peter and his brothers. Do you have birth dates for Leonard Catherine. Do you have info on George Ernestine's children other than Andrew. I have quite a bit of the Canadian LaBar/LeBarre family. I have Peter's wife as Maria catherina b1708 d1781 of German Origin. Is this similar to yours.
Thanx Denise

Hi,
I have been told our LaBarre/LaBar family came from Canada but can't seem to make the jump from NY where they left off (1860 census). Last ancestor able to find documentation on is a Daniel T. LaBar b. abt. 1821 NY d. btwn. 1900-1920. His children all born in Itaca Tompkins Co. NY. Any help would be appreciated,Thanks Kim

I am interested in whether you have found any information. I believe we are from the same LaBar (LaBarre) family and I am just starting my research. Your help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Your email address is bouncing, so I couldn't reply directly with me information. Reply with a correct one and I can send a lot more...

I am a descendant of Peter LaBar, still living near Slateford, where the original three brothers settled. Maybe I can be of help. Send more specific information on what you need. Do you have a list of people who you are researching, an ancestor list or something that lists the last known person that you have? Dates and locations are helpful if you have them. At the very least, I might be able to point you to someone who is researching your line. I've been in contact with a number of LaBar researchers over the years.

Hi!
Thanks so much for your response. I am just beginning my research and am totally unfamiliar with how roots web works. I have not joined ancestry.com as of yet and have had a friend helping me through her subscription.

My grandfather was Richard Gerald LaBarre, son of Ernest D. LaBarre in Colorado. We lost count of Ernest D. LaBarre after the 1910 census.

His Father was Andrew J. LaBarre born Ithaca Tompkins, NY in 1872. Son of Ephraim LaBarre Northampton, PA born in 1787.

We have found that a Thomas LaBarr has more information that I believe is my family and it is posted on ancestry.com under LaBarr and Hubbard.

I am looking specifically to find what happened to Ernest D. LaBarre and a daughter Edna D. LaBarre of his marriage to Lena A. Woodward in Colorado. Ernest disappears between the 1910 and 1920 census. Edna disappears after the 1920 census. We have found that Ernest was also married to a Mariah Williams in Madison Missouri in 1898, but do not know further of that marriage.

Is your relative Peter LaBarr related to Andrew J. LaBarre?

My direct email is dkeizer1@verizon.net. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Tangara (Sherri)

I am a direct descendant of Peter LaBar also. He is my 6 great grandfather. I have misplaced his great grandsons name. Do you have it? The name I am looking for is the son of George LaBar (the 110 year old born 1760s and died in 1870s. The guy I am looking for is the father of George LaBar (Georges wife Lavinia Decker LaBar). There are so many Georges it is probably George :)

Thanks,

James LaBar (Max)

Hi, I was wondering if you knew whether or not the Edna D. LaBarre you mentioned had a daughter named Doris M. LaBar?

I'm very new at this and I can't seem to find much information about my mother's side of the family before my great grandma Doris.

Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated.

The Edna LaBar in that post would have been her maiden name. So unless Doris took her mother's maiden name, her father would have been the LaBar. Can you give us more information on your great grandma Doris? Is Doris LaBar her maiden name? Birth/death dates and locations, who she married and their birth death dates? where they lived? The more the better (but don't post living peoples' dates). We have a lot of LaBar researchers out there, maybe someone can help if they have enough information.

There's a Doris LaBar b. 1923 in my area (Northampton Count, PA). Is that her?
